1. Who was the first official team mascot in Major League Baseball?

Mr. Met is the official mascot of the New York Mets and was first seen on April 11, 1962.  He was dissolved in the mid 70’s and remained absent for almost 20 years.  Finally in 1994 the Mets revived Mr. Met as part of a promotion with Nickelodeon and has since remained a constant part of the franchise.

2. What three Major League Baseball Mascots have been inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame?

Mr. Met from the New York Mets, Slider from the Cleveland Indians and the Phillie Phanatic from the Philadelphia Phillies.

3. Who is the official mascot of the San Diego Padres?
a.
The Swinging Friar has been the mascot of the Padres since 1958 when they were still a member of the Pacific Coast League.  The Swinging Friar is often confused with the The San Diego Chicken who makes occasional appearances at San Diego sporting events, although he has never been the official mascot of any San Diego sports team.
